Self Inspiration Collage

For one of my first assignments in a graphic design course, I was tasked with creating a collage of my face out of my greatest inspirations. Naturally, I chose video games, and quickly began overlaying game cover arts under a slightly transparent portrait picture. Placing particularly important games in place of my eyes, and mouth Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Borderlands 2 respectively, I wanted the collage to convey how specific games inspired the different kinds of games I like now.

Quote Tyopgraphy

An assignment I still think about, this typography design came after an assignment where everyone in the class was given a random quote with no context. We were instructed to interpret the quote and exclusively through typographical design, convey that interpretation to a viewer. It was only after everyone's designs had been submitted and displayed at an on-campus gallery that we learned the quotes were from various female activists that fought for many different honorable causes over the last 100 years.
